Beautify Shasta is a community initiative committed to cleaning, caring for, and restoring the natural beauty of Shasta County—one road, trail, and park at a time.
Born from a deep love for our home, we believe in hands-on stewardship, community pride, and creating a more vibrant, welcoming place for everyone.
Beautify Shasta is a community-powered initiative to protect and restore the beauty of our local landscapes. Through volunteer cleanups, education, and connection, we believe in turning everyday people into stewards of something greater—our home.
It started with one person and one big idea: What if we had a group that made it easy for everyday people to come together and make a visible difference?
Founder Mark Ewing saw a need—a lack of a central, organized group to tackle the litter and neglect facing our beautiful region. Instead of waiting for one to form, he created one.
Beautify Shasta is built on the belief that when people take pride in where they live, that pride spreads. A cleaner, more cared-for community brings people together, boosts local pride, and keeps Shasta County beautiful for locals and visitors alike.
Beautify Shasta was born from a deep love for our home. We bring community members together to clean, care for, and restore the natural beauty of Shasta County—one road, trail, and park at a time. Through hands-on service and education, we aim to inspire stewardship, build connection, and create a cleaner, more vibrant place for everyone.
We envision a Shasta County where every resident and visitor takes pride in a clean, thriving environment. Through community stewardship, education, and shared responsibility, we cultivate a culture that celebrates and protects the natural beauty that makes our home special.
Community
We believe in the power of people coming together from all walks of life to make a meaningful difference in our shared home.
Inclusion & Safety
We are committed to creating a welcoming, respectful, and safe space for everyone—regardless of race, color, gender, sexual orientation, or background.
Stewardship
We take responsibility for protecting and caring for Shasta County’s natural beauty through hands-on action and mindful choices.
Education
We believe knowledge empowers lasting change and strive to teach and learn about environmental care and respect for our land.
We’re just getting started—but the vision is big. We hope to grow into a full-scale volunteer-powered movement, bringing Beautify Shasta cleanups to every part of the county.
Want to be part of it? Stick around, follow along, and we’ll build something beautiful—together.
“This community matters to me—and I know it matters to you too. That’s why I created Beautify Shasta. This is just the beginning, and I hope you’ll be part of where it goes from here.”
— Mark Ewing, Founder
